Improving Road Safety on the A38 near Coombe Hill

We're currently experiencing some issues with this form. Please try again later.

The road is a major arterial road between Gloucester and Tewkesbury and is used by thousands of commuters, as well as residents.

The area is used daily by residents of Apperley, Deerhurst, Deerhurst Walton, Walton Hill, and many other surrounding areas, including by children who rely on the bus stops located along this stretch. Concerns have been raised about the lack of safe crossing points, poor visibility, inadequate signage, and the difficulty pedestrians face accessing bus services.

We respectfully request that Gloucestershire County Council consider the following changes:

  • Reduce the speed limit from 70mph to 50mph on this stretch of road
  • Install safe and clearly marked pedestrian crossings near the bus stops
  • Restore and maintain the existing footpath along the eastern side of the road
  • Install improved signage and road markings to alert drivers to the presence of bus stops and pedestrians

These practical improvements would help to improve road safety whilst ensuring that the road serves all users, as well as the local community.

By signing this petition, you are showing your support for a safer and more accessible A38 near Coombe Hill.
